MEET AMBER
After 20 plus years as a political strategist and consultant, Amber Johnson had been looking for ways to decompress from the long, intense hours spent on the campaign trail.
With a commitment to the Central Coast that traced back seven generations, in 2014 the San Luis Obispo County native was working on a high profile campaign and wanted a way to channel her extra energy into a positive and lifelong hobby.
When she tried searching for local female firearms instructors she couldn't locate one close enough to make it affordable. Amber's fierce spirit wasn't going to let an empty internet search stop her.
What also helped? A chance invite from a good friend to the local gun club.
She was welcomed into their community. Taught techniques that improved her skills. Spoken up to, not down to. She was SEEN.
Amber started visiting the range regularly, sought out a mentor and began to build up her skills. It was during those times that an idea started to take shape of a way to bring more accessibility for personal safety resources and firearm training options to the ladies of the Central Coast.
With grit, loads of determination and her trusty pink range bag, Amber found a way to share her passion of hunting, sporting clays and target shooting in order to evolve social norms and help inspire other women to embrace gun ownership.
When she's not on the range you'll likely find her enjoying time away at the ranch, checking off the next big bucket list item or spending time with one of her nine nephews.
The way Amber sees it, the Central Coast is our home and home is where you should feel as safe as possible. With Amber, you'll learn the skills to protect yourself and your loved ones for generations to come.
